About me
I was born, raised and have lived my entire life in Kamakura with the exception of going abroad for academic studies. I was married here and my husband and I raised our two children here and I honestly think that Kamakura is one of the most beautiful towns in Japan!
When I was studying abroad, many people helped me to fit into the culture that was foreign to me and I was so grateful for all of their kindnesses. My hope, as I began guiding tours, was that I could “pay it forward” by giving to others some knowledge of my culture during a process of fun and excitement that comes with travel and discovery.
I am fluent in both English and Japanese and have some language skill in Russian. I am a Government Licensed guide with more than 10 years of experience and am looking forward to sharing my knowledge of Kamakura in a style that is fun and enjoyable. I also am licensed as a Japanese Nursery school teacher and have more than ten years’ experience of working with children and their families in a variety of educational experiences.
I am a Mom with two grown children and in my spare time enjoy BBQ parties with family and friends as well as sewing and Yoga.
